Charles Darwin was born in Shrewsbury, England, came to Valparaiso in 1834 coming from Argentine crossing the Strait of Magellan’s Strait aboard of the Bergantin Beagle. This relevant Naturalist also travelled the zone of Colchagua delivering important knowledge about different aspects of his natural environment and the traditions of its habitants. In his honour and considering the huge contribution to the modern science the museum of Colchagua have collected important documents, testimony of the presence of Darwin in Chile and his contribution to the world knowledge.
